We used the Instant Pot Vortex Pro air fryer for around 7 months, which is long enough to gauge the performance of an appliance.
After using this machine to air frying chicken wings, fries, rotisserie chicken and other recipes, we have a lot of things to say about this large air fryer oven.
Below is my experience with the working and quality of the Instant Vortex Pro 10-quart air fryer.

Praiseworthy Looks And Design
The Instant Vortex has the appearance of a rotisserie-style air fryer.
At the front, it features a big viewing window on the pull-down door.
The exterior is stainless steel, which makes the unit sturdy and durable.
A large towel bar handle on the door allows a firm grip, making it easier to open the door when putting or removing food.
The big and bright control panel allows easy readability, making the unit suitable for beginners and senior users.
The dimension of Instant Vortex Pro is 13.75″D x 14.37″ W x 13.23″H, so you can expect it to demand some real estate on the countertop.
It is not primarily a basket air fryer but has a rotisserie basket for making whole chicken.
Energy-Efficient Operation
Despite its capacity and multiple cooking functions, the wattage of the air fryer is minimal; it only draws 1500 watts of power.
In comparison, some Ninja air fryers with a smaller cooking capacity draw more than 1700 watts of electricity.
Another energy-efficient feature of Instant Pro is that it shuts off the fan after attaining the required temperature instead of running it continuously.

The Instant Vortex comes with 9 cooking functions, enabling you to cook a range of dishes that need more than one cooking appliance.
You can bake, roast, dehydrate, proof, rotisserie, toast, air fry, broil, and reheat.
Below are the details of my experience with these cooking functions.
Baking Is A Breeze
Indeed, an air fryer’s baking quality differs from an oven's.
Instant Vortex Pro still performs better than most air fryers.
It particularly excelled at baking cookies during my tests, where many premium air fryers falter.
Since the heating element is at the top, you will get a crispy and golden brown crust on your cookies and cakes.
However, getting the same texture and color on the underside of the bread and cookies may be a little tricky.
Dehydrate Function Is Reasonable
The Instant Vortex dehydrate function is good but not exceptional.
We found that while drying food, it cooks it, too.
So, if you keep this in mind and adjust the temperature and time accordingly, you can get reasonably good results.
Using Rotisserie Feature Is A Delight
The air fryer comes with all the accessories used for making rotisserie chicken, including rotisserie spit, spikes, and the basket.
The rotisserie basket is a delightful addition, which is often not part of the air fryer deal.
The best thing about a basket is that it prevents you from tying limbs and loose parts of the chicken and ensures even cooking.
Just add the food to the rotisserie basket; it will rotate while cooking, allowing even cooking.
Toasting Is Easier
Toasting in Instant Vortex Pro is as easy as in a big oven; you get evenly browned slices from both sides.
However, you must flip the sides of the toast midway to allow even browning on both sides.
Proofing Feature Is A Thoughtful Addition
You will not find a Proofing feature even in many premium air fryers, so I really loved this addition to the Instant Vorex air fryer.
As far as the quality of the proofing function, it still needs improvements.
The air fryer only reaches 80F during proofing, whereas the ideal temperature for proofing dough is 80F to 100F.
For the reason above, I don’t recommend using Instant Vortex for baking big loaves of bread; you can still use its proofing function for making dinner rolls.
Foolproof Reheating Function
After using this air fryer for reheating, you will never return to using your microwave.
The best thing I found about this appliance is that it warms up and crisps up the food to the right level without over-drying it, which is often the case with microwaves.
Instant Vortex Pro Vs. Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer
The main difference between Instant Vortex Pro and Instant Vortex Plus is the proof and the toast function.
The Instant Pro has a proof and toast function, which is not in the Plus version.
Vortex Pro is, in fact, the upgraded version of the Instant Vortex Plus.
As far as shape is concerned, both air fryers look similar and have a rotisserie-style design featuring stainless steel construction.
In addition, the cooking capacity of both air fryers is also the same (10 QT).
However, the Instant Vortex Plus is heavier (19 lb.) than the Pro (17.5 Pounds).

Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer performed exceptionally well during our most cooking tests, consisting of the popular air fryer recipes. It is a large-capacity Air fryer with a Rotisserie function that can satisfy the food cravings of five to six people in one go. The accessories coming with the instant vortex are all non-stick and well-built. The inside is metal with a tough glass door, contributing to its longevity. All in all, this Instant air fryer is a good unit for home use.
