Chefman Turbofry has been in the market for quite some time now.

There has been a buzz surrounding the higher cooking quality of this air fryer.

Fascinated by positive user reviews, I used Chefman Turbofry Touch XL when reviewing the best 8-quart air fryers.

After extensive use and cooking with this expectedly best Chefman air fryer for a few months…

I am presenting a comprehensive review of all its features and functions.

First Impression Of Chefman Turbofry Touch Xl

The air fryer has an excellent packaging. The box and all the packing were sturdy and intact.

The packaging was designed to protect the air fryer during transit.

When I opened the box, the air fryer was securely placed inside, surrounded by cushioning materials.

No Plastic Smell

There was no plastic smell in the air fryer, which many others discussed in their review.

However, I still thoroughly cleaned the basket and crisper plate before the first use just for my satisfaction to ensure there is no chemical smell problems on the first use.

It is a good practice to follow before using an air fryer for the first time.

Premium Cooking Features

When it comes to price, it is an affordable air fryer (we purchased it for under $100) compared to super-priced units.

Even then, it comes with some premium features such as auto shutoff and LED automatic shake reminder.

Once cooking in this air fryer, I forgot to flip the sides of our steak.

Its automatic shake reminder with a beep prompted us to turn the sides, preventing us from ruining the steaks.

The auto shutoff function is another impressive thing about this unit.

It pauses the heating automatically when you open the basket to check or toss the food, ensuring you safely handle the contents without harming your hands.

Family Size Cooking Capacity

Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about its footprint and weight. It is heavy but not more than a crock pot.

Though the size contributes to its large footprint, it becomes a blessing when cooking a decent amount of food, like roasting a whole chicken.

One thing you should consider is that it is not an air fryer with a basket divider.

You can only cook one meal at a time unless you have some kind of partition to divide the basket into two.

For cooking two recipes at a time, you must check these best air fryers with two baskets or get CHEFMAN 2 in 1 Max XL with basket divider.

Drop-In Basket Design

The air fryer’s deep and drop-in design offers many advantages for cooking various foods.

The design makes placing items like French fries and chicken wings and shaking them in the basket incredibly easy.

When done cooking, you can pull out the basket and swiftly transfer the contents onto a plate.

However, there is a slight drawback to the drop-in design.

While it is ideal for fries and nuggets, it may not be best for making pizza or fish filets, which require a front-open air fryer design for better results.

So, consider your cooking needs when buying this air fryer.

Long-Lasting Non-Stick Coating

I have used and tested various air fryers in my kitchen.

A major concern with using an air fryer with a non-stick coating is its coating.

It wears off over time, compromising the healthiness of the cooking process.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with this air fryer.

After a few months of regular use, I can confidently say that this air fryer’s non-stick coating is remarkably resilient.

Even after subjecting the air fryer to various cooking techniques and temperatures, the coating has shown no signs of deterioration or flaking off.

The resilient coating makes the cooking experience more enjoyable.

You can cook food without worrying about scrapping or scrubbing the basket to remove stuck-on food residue.

Cleaning Is A Cinch

The air fryer is not a big block of plastic.

The exterior, with its stainless steel accents, offers numerous benefits; most importantly, it makes cleaning a breeze.

Even if you touch the air fryer with oily hands, it is less likely to show noticeable stains.

The surface is smooth and nonporous, so the dirt and debris do not cling to it.

It is also highly resistant to staining, a common issue with plastic surfaces.

Turbofry air fryer removable parts are dishwasher safe.

However, it is recommended to limit cleaning them in a dishwasher, as it can affect the coating.

Besides, hand washing is a cinch and does not take much longer.

Cooking Tests and Results

We conducted many cooking tests in this air fryer and are delighted to share a few with you.

  • Frozen Chicken Fingers: I made frozen chicken fingers. The air fryer took only 12 minutes at 400F to complete the cooking, helping us enjoy mouthwatering chicken fingers.
  • Air Fried French Fries: I made three pounds of fries using the “fries” preset and fed all team members. Its cooking preset simplifies the cooking. The fries made in this air fryer can easily rival those bought from a gourmet restaurant.
  • Chicken Wings: Next, I cooked chicken wings. The first batch of the wings cooked at 400F was not so perfect. The outside was perfectly crispy, but the inside meat lacked the moisture and juiciness I anticipated.
  • Next, I retried the recipe by using the “chicken” preset. Finally, I got our perfect Chefman turbo chicken wings recipe. I rate it as a good air fryer for making chicken wings.
  • Charred Broccoli: In just 8 minutes, the air fryer allowed a seamless transition of broccoli florets from frozen to roasted. The smoky flavor infused in the broccoli was surprising yet delightful. It enhanced the natural sweetness of the vegetable.

My Final Verdict

Turbofry excelled at most cooking tests, consistently giving good results. In some cases, the food lacked crispiness or juiciness.

Still, I don’t consider it a major flaw, as you can improve your cooking with more practice.

All in all, you can call it the best Chefman air fryer for delivering perfectly crispy fries, delicious roasted broccoli, and delicate fish filets, among other things.

Chefman TurboFry® Touch Digital Stainless Steel Air Fryer

Chefman Turbofry Touch XL vs Chefman TurboFry 8-Quart

Both the Chefman Turbotouch and Chefman Turbofry air fryer have an 8 qt capacity and an auto-shutoff.

But there are certain differences between the two units.

  • Chefman XL has stainless steel construction, while Chefman TurboFry 8-Quart is made of plastic.
  • Chefman XL does not have an integrated 60-minute timer, which the other unit has.
  • Chefman TurboFry 8-Quart does not have an automatic shake reminder.
  • Plus, there are no cooking presets or digital control panels. All these features are present in the Chefman XL.

Final Words

Since I always work hard to provide a balanced review, I acknowledge that the Chefman Turbofry might not be the best stainless steel air fryer available. However, it still offers a range of benefits.

Its cooking results are at par with any Air fryer for 5 people from premium brands such as Ninja. Its spacious capacity, ease of use, and auto-shutoff feature add convenience and make cooking a seamless experience.
